William Hill has been producing wines since 1978 and shows no signs of slowing down. Located in California’s most famous wine region, Napa Valley, the winery specializes in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing a series of Reserve and Napa Valley wines. Naturally they discovered Chardonnay grown in the cool climate and well-drained soils of Carneros tends to offer brighter, more intense flavors with a higher acidity than grapes grown in the upper end of the Napa Valley. The end result is Chardonnay wines with depth and complexity, loaded with layers and crisp bright flavors.
The 2014 William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay offers ripe tree fruit and heady notes of baked apple that are supported by layers of caramel, brown spice and toasted oak flavors. Wine Enthusiast wrote the following wine review: “The winemaker blended multiple vineyards into the wine, from cool places in Carneros to warmer northern areas, and the result is impeccable. You’ll find crisp acidity and minerality, along with a range of fruits, from green apples and peaches to pears and tropical fruits. Barrel fermentation and lees aging add rich notes of smoky butter and sour cream to this complex Chardonnay.”
Hold onto the 2014 William Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay white wine for another two years or enjoy now. For those with an appetite, we recommend pairing this Chardonnay with the following dishes: chicken schnitzel with chunky avocado salsa, or Hawaiian Pizza recipe by THE GRAPE. Also, try the chutney ham and cheese grill or an avocado veggie Panini.
