Murrieta’s Well The Whip White Blend 2012 ($22)

This Week In White Wine: Murrieta’s Well The Whip White Blend 2012 ($22)

“A full-bodied white blend composed largely of Chardonnay with smaller percentages of Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Orange Muscat, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Sémillon and Muscat Canelli. The aromas and flavors lean tropical, ensconced in crisp vanilla and lemon-lime. A versatile wine for a myriad of foods. Rich seafood dishes will work particularly well.” – Wine Enthusiast

Wine Review

Murrieta’s Well originally got its start in 1883 with vineyard cuttings from some of the best, if not ‘the best’ vineyards in Bordeaux: Chateau d’Yquem and Chateau Marguax. During this time, a gravity flow winery was built as an extended part of the property’s artesian well. And in 1990, Philip Wente and Sergio Traverso decided to revive the historic estate. Today, Murrieta’s Well promises a unique and unforgettable experience for all – and so far, they have kept that promise.

The highly acclaimed 2012 Murrieta’s Well The Whip White Blend introduces a beautiful blend of aromatics, flavors and texture. Savor soft waves of, orange blossom, honeysuckle, white peach, citrus, pear, melon, vanilla and honey. All of which work its way up to butterscotch creamy finish.

Grab a bottle of the delicious 2012 Murrieta’s Well The Whip White Blend tonight and share a glass with your guests over a meal. We recommend pairing this white wine with a healthy Szechuan chicken dish, THEGRAPE’s Lobster BLT Recipe, or a turkey pesto Panini sandwich. Another delicious and healthy recipe to try is the hearty kale and bean salad.  Bon Appétit.

Grape Certified Gold

The 2012 Murrieta’s Well The Whip White Blend is a great example of a balanced white blend from California's Livermore Valley and it's well worth it! Take in aromas of orange blossom, soft notes of gardenia, lemon and lime accented by peach, honey cool melon and pear. This wine shows a lean combo of tropical fruits – a well-structured wine with unique appeal. I highly recommend this refreshing Grape Certified Gold wine. A great wine under $25 that tastes like it’s over $30. Cheers to great wine!
