The Mercer Canyon farm is located in the Columbia Valley wine region and lies within the Horse Heaven Hills. While the Columbia River acts as a southern border, the Horse Heaven Hills reaches as far as the eye can see in every direction – a truly breathtaking vista. The Mercer family is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the land and maintaining a balanced ecosystem that nurtures the quality of their grapes, along with other fruit and vegetables they cultivate and produce year after year.
The appreciated, 2013 Mercer Canyons Chardonnay opens with notes of vanilla, creamsicle, juicy pear and pineapple aromas. On the palate, the lush fruit morphs into sweet pineapple juice and fresh pear flavors with a drizzle of sweet butter. The flavors are balanced by clean bright acidity leading to a long, lingering finish.
Open a bottle tonight or this year and enjoy with these appetizing dishes: citrus chicken quinoa salad, surf’ ’n’ turf kebobs, or a toasted turkey, cheddar and apple sandwich. If you’re in the mood for something more exotic, try the vegan nevratan korma, it’s a sweet and mild curry dish that pairs perfectly with this wine.
