Wine Review

La Crema is famous for producing exquisite white and red wines, like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir respectively, sourcing grapes from California’s finest cool-climate wine regions such as: Anderson Valley, Russian River Valley, Los Carneros, Sonoma Coast and Monterey. Today, they continue to explore the essence, depth and breadth of varietal expression, creating premium world-class wines that are simply unforgettable.

The applauded, 2013 La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir offers complex aromas that are both savory and sweet. Ripe plum and forest floor aromas lead, followed by notes of violet and cocoa powder. On the palate, elements of pomegranate and blackberry are front and center, framed by notes of anise and mocha. This wine displays well-integrated acidity and ne-grained tannins create an elegant, well-structured wine.  Wine Advocate’s, Antonio Galloni wrote the following review on La Crema’s 2013 Monterey Pinot Noir, “Bright red. Spicy red berries and rose on the nose, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Offers tangy strawberry and red currant flavors and a hint of cola, with a white pepper nuance adding bite. Finishes lively and focused, leaving behind sweet red fruit liqueur and orange peel notes behind. I like the blend of succulence and tanginess here.”

Whether you plan on opening a bottle of the 2013 La Crema Monterey Pinot Noir this year or laying one down for another 5 years, this wine will continue to age with grace. Also, consider pairing this Pinot with THEGRAPE’s Caramelized Chicken Wings, garlic roasted pork loin with raspberry chipotle glaze, or rosemary and garlic salmon. The aubergine (a.k.a. Eggplant) and parsley pesto is vegan-friendly and delicious – terrific when served as bruschetta, it also is great as a pasta sauce.
