Kendall-Jackson aims to create extraordinary wine from California’s best vineyards. And we think they’re doing a terrific job! Today, Kendall-Jackson winery produces a variety of premium wines for all occasions. Here’s one white wine we recommend: the highly raved, 2014 Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay. It displays a variety of tropical fruity aromas and flavors and shows great balance and clean, well-integrated acidity and finesse. One publication described the Grand Reserve Chardonnay as follows,
Lots of oaky flavors mark this dry wine. Buttered toast, brown butter and vanilla flavors dominate the underlying peach, pear, citrus and mango flavors. - Wine Enthusiast
Robert Parker, described the Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay as, “The Grand Reserve Chardonnay is composed of Monterey and Santa Barbara fruit that spent nine months in largely French oak as well as smaller quantities of American wood. One-third is new, and this cuvee is put through full malolactic fermentation as opposed to the other Chardonnays where it is generally partially or completely blocked. Copious quantities of tropical fruits, pineapples, mangoes, apricot marmalade and honeyed citrus are found in this clean white that finishes with good acidity and a distant minerality. It was the only Chardonnay in this tasting that revealed a touch of oak.”
Enjoy now and pair with these scrumptious meals: grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, creamy lobster pasta, or the lemon garlic herbed grilled chicken. Or, have fun playing with flavors when you pair this 2014 Grand Reserve Chardonnay with the warm fruity chickpea salad. Bon Appétit!
