Januik is one of two independent wineries that share a destination tasting room with Novelty Hill, in the peaceful and beautiful town of Woodinville, Washington. Under the direction of Mike Januik, one of Washington’s most acclaimed winemakers, you can expect nothing but the best. The grapes for this wine were selected from Washington’s famed Columbia Valley wine region. Interestingly, the Columbia Valley is situated between the same latitudes as the famed French wine regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy. As an added bonus, because the grapes from this wine region get more sunshine, the hot days and cool nights help the fruit mature more beautifully, while intensifying the flavors.

The critically acclaimed, 2013 Januik Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon showcases aromas and flavors of blackberry, raspberry, ripe cherry, and notes of vanilla with faint traces of rich earth. Paul Gregutt of Wine Enthusiast described the wine as, “Principally Cabernet Sauvignon, this blends in small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Broad fruit flavors range from strawberry into red plum, with some stemmy earth leading into stiff tannins. The astringent, earthy character is well-managed and balanced against the pretty fruit.”
