Wine Review

While some might say the straw-colored 2014 Jam Cellars Butter Chardonnay has a “delightfully aromatic profile,” at THEGRAPE we say it smells simply delicious. And that begins with vanilla scented oak and ripe pear. Once we allowed it to open up a bit, bringing it closer to room temperature, the flavors were more noticeable, with a touch of buttered toast and tropical fruitiness that rounded out the aromas and gave the Butter Chardonnay a little extra depth. Refreshing flavors of honeydew and pineapple combine with vanilla to draw together an enjoyably smooth finish that lingers just long enough.

When we took our first sips we noticed the flavors had a great balance of fruit without being over the top. When you combine this balance of ripe fruit with the creaminess of the butter you’ll find yourself ready to kick off your shoes and enjoy a glass (or bottle) of this delicious white wine by itself or with a variety of foods and festivities. This Grape Certified Gold Chardonnay is an excellent complement for almost any salad, fish or chicken recipe along with any gathering or outdoors festivity. Overall, with this Chardonnay, Jam Cellars managed to find a near perfect balance of refreshing, delicious and smooth, and all of this at a cost ($15) that is within range of most budget conscious wine drinkers. You can find Jam Cellars Butter Chardonnay at many of your local retailers, including Total Wine and BevMo, or at a number of online retailers. We recommend you add this white wine to your list of Must Drink Wines of 2015!
