This Week In Food & Wine: Healthy Gluten Free Mongolian Beef Recipe Paired with Wine

Probably one of the more popular international dishes, Mongolian Beef has been enjoyed in many different ways over the years. Today however, weÍre keeping it healthy and simple, as this very basic approach combined with the right wines can make for a delicious, healthy and memorable flavor experience. Here are some ideal wine pairings weÍd suggest for optimal enjoyment!

Below you will find your delicious Mongolian Beef recipe paired with its ideal wines, so let’s all pour ourselves a glass and get to bringing the two together! This dish feeds 4 and will take approximately 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

a. 12 oz. Sliced Beef Tenderloin

b. 1 tbsp. Soy Bean Oil

c. 1 tsp. Garlic

d. 2 fl oz. GLUTEN FREE soy sauce

e. 2 tbsp. Sugar

f. 1 tsp. Rice Wine

g. 2 oz. Green Onion Sticks- 3″ long green only!

h. 1 tsp. Sesame Oil

Cooking Instructions:

a. First, heat oil in a saut_ pan and add the beef. Cook for approximately 30-60 seconds or until cooked.

  • Beef should be lightly browned around the edges and gray throughout the rest of the surface.

b. Next, add your garlic and toss.

c. Now, add the rice wine, soy sauce, and sugar and bring the mixture to a boil.

d. YouÍll want to cook and reduce the sauce around the beef until all the sauce has caramelized onto the meat.

  • Hint: The sauté pan should be “dry” (no flowing sauce) before proceeding onto the next step.

e. Now, add the green onion sticks and again toss until mixed into the beef.

  • Hint: A few tosses are all that are needed; do not wilt the green onion sticks!

f. Lastly, finish the dish with a little sesame oil and place on a plate and enjoy!
