It’s time to kick off the summer with great food delicious wine. You didn’t go to all the trouble of trying to get in shape to not be able to enjoy it, right? That’s why we’re starting the summer of 2017 off with a bang (or a bark), with the 2015 Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. This light but fruity, think tropical, white wine is a perfect compliment to some of your favorite summertime foods. It’s especially good with meals centered around white meats or seafood dishes, like The Grape’s Healthy Chicken Fajitas recipe, which balances well when paired with this Sauvignon Blanc. Below we’ve suggested a few other meals that we think you’ll enjoy with a bottle of this award winning wine.
The 2015 Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc hails from the Marlborough wine region of New Zealand, at the northeast tip of the south island. This wine region is known for its delicious white wines, especially Sauvignon Blanc. Because of the proximity to the ocean, its tropical roots, and the regions unique minerality, you get an unique experience of flavors, including hints of rare fruits, a touch of saltiness, and a balance unmatched by many of the worlds leading wine regions. This means you’re in for an otherworldly experience, and it’s a big reason why Marlborough, New Zealand is one of our favorite wine regions.
For the staff at The Grape, Sauvignon Blanc is an (often) underrated (white) wine, compared to the more popular Chardonnay. In fact, because of its (typically) sweeter profile, we’ve found it to be a great bridge, or conversion wine, for wine drinkers who don’t (yet) prefer white wine, especially when paired with a complementary dish that highlights this grape’s flavors. We suggest you buy (at least) 2 bottles, if not more, this way you can enjoy it now and later. You can buy the 2015 Dog Point Vineyard’s Sauvignon Blanc online or at local wine stores. Although this wine, is delicious on its own, its flavors are complemented by a variety of recipes. In addition to our earlier suggestion, we’ve included a few other recipe ideas below. We think you’ll really love this wine.

Wine Grapes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
