Cloud Break wines are inspired by the annual growing season that influences each grape harvest and subsequent vintage in California.  From the last rains of winter to the flowering of spring vines, nothing is as exciting as the cycle of the vineyard and the promise of new wine.  Spring’s “cloud break” leads into California’s near perfect weather combination of long warm days and cool evenings to yield grapes of remarkable quality and consistency.   Then through our winemaker’s careful hand, the resulting Cloud Break wines deliver ripe, concentrated fruit flavors, rich textures and great length.

Cloud Break wines are gaining a strong following thanks to their elegance, finesse and value. And no matter the vintage, the Cloudbreak Sauvignon Blanc has proven, year after year, to be a winner. Having stumbled on it at a weekend wine tasting, it quickly became a favorite of ours and was even used as a conversion wine for friends who aren’t or weren’t fans of white wine. This cheap wine, which comes in under $10 per bottle, will surprise you despite it’s price. It’s best served chilled and paired with foods that will accentuate its flavors, which include kiwi fruit, casaba melon, peach and a light citrus finish.

We paired this Cloud Break white wine with THEGRAPE’s Seared Ahi Tuna and Strawberry Salad recipe and included finely chopped peaches. It was amazing! And even though it may not be a wine you choose to drink on a regular basis, it’s so refreshing and is perfect for a warm spring or summer evening, paired with a delicious seafood salad that’s topped with complementary fruits. You won’t be sorry. We promise. Look for Cloud Break wines in restaurants, wine shops and retail stores around the country.
