Located in the heart of the historic Sonoma Valley wine region, Arrowood has been producing high-character wines from sustainably and organically farmed vineyards since the mid 80’s. This area is noted for producing incredible Cabernet Sauvignon, which happens to be Arrowood’s signature wine. However, they also produce limited quantities of other noble varieties from some of Sonoma’s most acclaimed vineyards. In this particular wine region the warm days are tempered by morning fog and afternoon breezes that come from the Pacific Ocean – a climate that is well suited to delicate, early-ripening varieties like, Chardonnay. Because the fruit develops more slowly and consistently, it produces wines of exceptional flavor, complexity and character.
The appreciated 2012 Arrowood Chardonnay offers tropical aromatics with notes of citrus, crème brûlée and integrated oak. It is round with a lush mouthfeel that offers balanced acidity and a long finish of orange peel, tangerine and toasted almond.
Drink now or save for later this year. We strongly recommend enjoying this white wine with THEGRAPE’s fried chicken, or an arugula prosciutto sausage mozzarella pizza. However, if you’re in the mood for seafood, we suggest, Harissa-grilled mackerel with potatoes, zucchini & mint. And for our vegetarians try the zucchini & chickpea tangine recipe, it’s delicious!
